Students across the land are just now reveling in the heady ferment of freedom for summer vacation, and wouldn't you know it, here comes Apple, trying to get everyone thinking about the upcoming school year already. At least they're offering a good deal for their back to school promotion:
When you buy a Mac and iPod Nano by September 16, 2006, your iPod nano is free after mail-in rebate. Or choose another iPod and enjoy big savings after mail-in rebate. Plus, use your education discount on other products to save even more.

Frantic asterisks in the sales text lead to a footnote that makes sure we all know the rebate is good for up to US$179, so depending on the model of iPod you buy it's either free or heavily discounted. A further footnote reminds us that we must be a qualified 'Apple Education Individual end-user purchaser' (in other words, every Joe off the street can't just waltz in and get a free nano, you've got to be hitting the books to qualify). Interested parties are are directed to the Back to School FAQ for more information on the promotion and how one can qualify.
